Workshops and Classes

Alfredo currently teaches classes and workshops both in his private studio in Hyattsville, MD and in the Resident Associates Program at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Specific information about the workshops and classes at each location is listed below.

Alfredo Ratinoff Studio

Located a few miles outside Washington DC in Hyattsville, MD, Alfredo teaches a variety of techniques in ceramics including hand-building, sculpture, mosaics, tile making, brushwork decoration, and glazing in his private studio. Classes are offered every week on a month-to-month basis. Please contact Alfredo for more information.

Smithsonian Resident Associates Program

Ceramic Tile Making

Alfredo guides you through the tile-making process, from learning about a variety of designs and introductory techniques used to decorate and make tiles to the final firing and installation of each piece.

Marvelous Mosaics

Alfredo will guide you through the mosaic-making process, from the initial design to the final grouting and assemblage of the works.
